General:
These specifications are to
identify a practical self-propelled chip spreader for seal coating
roads and highways. This machine is sturdy enough not to twist the
frame when loaded on one side only.
FRAME:
Unit welded
3"x6"x3/16" structural tubing for lower members welded
3/8" rear and front axle holder with front pyramid and nine
cross bracing in each conveyor's side, welded into one sturdy unit.
POWER TRAIN:
Engine, transmission, rear axle
power take-offs are in line to prevent horsepower loss. The engine is
mounted under the operating platform to reduce sound and heat,
readily accessible for maintenance. Air compressor self maintained.
All components are standard industrial production items.

and Caterpillar engines 150 HP - 225 HP.
TRANSMISSION:
Power shift type 6-speed forward
and 3 speed reverse.
REAR AXLE:
Rear Wheel Drive -
Differential, 35,000 lbs. capacity. Planetary wheel ends 19:1 ratio,
Air spring brakes 16 1/2 x 7, 12 bolt wheel.
Non Drive
- 35,000 lbs. capacity, Tag 16 1/2 x 7 Air spring brakes, 10 bolt wheel.
FRONT AXLE:
Drive - 26,000lbs.

TRUCK HITCH:
Positive locking, hydraulic
release truck hitch enables hooking and releasing of all aggregate
trucks without stopping.

CONVEYOR SYSTEM:
Two 24" conveyor belts
independently controlled by built-in variable speed controls
(Standard). Full length side lining, self cleaning tail pulleys with
7 troughing idlers and 3 return rollers per conveyor.
POWER SYSTEM TO CONVEYORS:
The Hydrostatic drive system
consists of 3 variable displacements axial piston pumps connected in
a open circuit to a fixed displacement, low-speed, hi-torque motor.
The hi-torque motors are driven by motorized flow control vlalves
that are infinitely variable between zero and maximum speed.

AGGREGATE RECEIVING HOPPER:
Six and one-half cubic yard
receiving hopper with adjustable feed control gates and rubber
skirting to prevent spillage. It is 114" wide, 75"
horizontal depth and 40" vertical depth, with 24" x 36"
openings over conveyor belts.
AGGREGATE SPREAD HOPPER:
STANDARD FIXED WIDTHS:
10'6" to 18'. Cut-off gates are adjustable by presetting to
spread from a minimum of 6" to a maximum of the width of the
spread hopper. Cut-off gates are front-closing radial type,
controlled from the operator's control deck and open in 1/16"
increments of 0" to 3 ½". All spread hoppers gates are
made 3/16 A.R. plate for long life. Spread roll is 6 ½" in
diameter: hydrostatically driven and controlled by the operator.
EXPANDABLE FRONT HOPPER
OPTION IN TWO SIZES: 10' to 16' or 12' to 20'. The expandable
hopper is a single large capacity box with hydraulic expanding ends
that retract down for transportation and extend for maximum desired
spread width. Individual gates are supplied to provide flexibility of
desired selected width. Operator has the ability to control each
individual gate on demand, with manual override capability from the
computer if needed. Spread width range of 9 inches to 20 feet, and
spread rate ranges from 4 lb. to 90+ lbs. at any speed of up to 1,200
feet per minute.
FRONT HOPPER REJECT SCREENS:
A full width rod screed
(grizzly) with 1 ½" openings that retain all oversize and
foreign objects. Rear hopper grates.
